Through the dust

Crete, 2025

At the beginning of May, the Cretan air was blanketed by Saharan dust, warming it to 35°C. I could feel myself bracing to withstand the heat, steadying myself through the discomfort. As I took a breath, I looked around: everything had been touched by an ochre hue, offering a new perspective on what I saw. I needed to find a way out of the airlessness.

The landscape spoke to me, and I responded.
